Angola and the United Arab Emirates will work to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the environmental sector, particularly in the field of Climate Change. This will was expressed yesterday (17.04.23) in Dubai, during a meeting between the Minister of the Environment, Ana Paula Chantre de Carvalho Pereira, and her counterpart from the Emirates, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Maryam Bint Muhammad Al Muhairi, moment in which the two entities reaffirmed their commitment to such a feat. During the visit to the UAE, the Angolan delegation presented a proposal for cooperation between the two Ministries in the field of Climate Change, discussed the holding of COP 28 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, to be held from 30 from November to December 12, 2023 at Expo City, Dubai, the Global Adaptation Goal (GGA), the New Quantified Collective Goal on Climate Finance, the Global Stocktake, as well as the exchange of experiences on reforestation and creation of green zones. Accompanying the delegation led by Minister Ana Paula de Carvalho Pereira, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fundo Ambiente, Joaquim Lourenço Manuel, the Secretary General, Gilberto Alfredo, Hassana Lima, Director General of the National Institute of Environmental Management and Iury Valter dos Santos , National Director of Environmental Technologies. Rui Baptista Ferreira, Artemísia Mucuta Bravo da Silva and Cecília Fernanda da Silva Bernardo, Director of the Legal and Exchange Office, Director of Information Technologies and Institutional Communication and Consultant to the Minister of the Environment, respectively, also form part of the delegation from the Ministry of the Environment.
